With less than six months ahead of the 2024 general election, long-time La Porte resident Kristi Baird met with fellow residents to form La Porte’s first ever Democratic club. Together they put out a call for any Democrat or Democrat-adjacent La Porte resident looking to get involved to gather at Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux in the late spring. Since then, liberal-minded and progressive residents of our city and the wider area have meet a least once a month working towards a safer and more democratic community.
